Special Event Station February 27 and 28, 1999

The club's first Special Event Station-a celebration of the dedication of the new club station, was a great success.  We had DX, pile-ups, first time operators, old pros, great signal reports, and a lot of very positive feedback on what a great idea it was to have a club station in a school.  The first QSL card was in the mail box Monday morning. Certificate collectors don't waste any time.

 The Special Event

The Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club celebrated the dedication of our new club station. The station is located in the Mississippi Horizons middle school in Brainerd, Minnesota.   Mississippi Horizons is a technology oriented middle school on the east bank of the Mississippi River. Much of the equipment we are using today was donated by the family of a former member of the club who is now a silent key. (Skip Peterson, KC0NA)
