Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club
Big Congratulations
by Fritz WØKO
Our very own Ken Magloughlin KAØJSW was honored November 13, 2000, by the community for his outstanding senior volunteerism. In fact, he was named OUTSTANDING SENIOR CITIZEN. The honor and recognition are much deserved. As many of you know, Ken is a retired Marine Corps officer, a former chemistry and biology teacher, and a retired State Farm Insurance adjuster. We all know the many tasks Ken takes on, but now the greater Brainerd-Baxter and rest of Crow Wing County know what a treasure we have in him. (See the Brainerd Dispatch edition of 11-14-2000) Not only has Ken been an officer of this club and served voluntarily in many other club capacities (too numerous to mention), but he has also been involved in the Marine Corps League, Civil Defense, etc. Many know of his Toys for Tots, now Toys for Kids, efforts as well. Ken considers helping serve some 800-900 area children his favorite activity. When some job needed to be done, Ken has always stepped in. He is like the energizer bunny---he keeps going in spite of some health setbacks now and then. We in the BAARC are proud of you, Ken
