BAARC Annual Summer Dinner
June 8, 2000

The Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club Annual Summer Dinner was held at the Bonanza Restaurant in Baxter.

The speaker was Doctor Glenn Johnson WØGJ of Bemidji.  All six members of his family are hams.  He is an Orthopedic Surgeon who loves to go on DX-peditions.  Doctor Johnson gave a slide presentation on his recent DX-pedition to Bhutan.  This is a very small country near Pakistan.

This photo shows BAARC President Mark Persons WØMH, Melissa Johnson NØMAJ, Doctor Johnson, and Mark Johnson NØMJ.  They are holding up the flag of Bhutan.

Glenn also told the group about the "super station" at his home.

The station shown above is actually two full power 160 through 10 meter HF ham stations.  Each station has a Kenwood TS-950DX Transceiver and an Alpha 87A Linear Amplifier.

This is Glenn's closet.  It is full of band pass filters to allow the two full power stations to operate on adjacent bands without interference to each other.
