At
8 PM, the speaker was Kevin Mahle, Director of Emergency Management,
who took the place of Dave Schuldheisz, KBØSCT. Mahle is the former
Fire Chief of the City of Brainerd.
His topic was Emergency Management in Crow Wing
County. That included an Overview of Emergency
Management, role of the manager, overview of public safety communication
responsibilities, and role for the BAARC in Multiple Agency Coordination.
Mahle showed a PowerPoint presentation on
the May 31, 2002, fire south of Brainerd. BAARC members will be working
with Mahle, in the future at disaster drills and possibly in real disaster
situations. Kevin Mahle is not a licensed ham, but has expressed an
interest in studying for the exam.
