Club Membership Meeting....July 28, 2005

The July Membership Meeting of the Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club was held at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.

The evening speaker was Mark Persons WØMH  who demonstrated the correct methods for installing type BNC, type N, and PL-259 connectors on coaxial cables. Pitfalls were explained as well and how to avoid them. This informative talk inspired numerous questions and comments from those attending the session.

Mark is a Certified Radio Broadcast Engineer and Past President of the Club. He has been installing RF connectors for some 40 years and explained that knowledge, patience, and practice are required to learn the intricate skills necessary to install connectors that are reliable. A television camera was used to show his experienced hands in action installing connectors.
