Skee WŘDCY,
reported that he has been doing well on 17 meters from
his home QTH on the north side of Brainerd, MN. February 1st through
the 3rd, he made contact with CM6CAC in Cuba, XE2EX in Mexico, UP2MRO in the
West Indies, WA4FPX in Florida, WH6P in Hawaii, HB9RDE in
Switzerland, and PY5HOT in Brazil. Most contacts were made between 8
AM and 11 AM local time with 100 watts USB. Skee’s equipment line-up includes a Yeasu 897D HF Transceiver, an Ameritron AL-811H Linear Amplifier, an Icom IC-207 VHF/UHF Transceiver, a Yeasu FT100 All-Band All-Mode Transceiver, and a log periodic 30-10 meter antenna. Skee made contact with a bicycle-mobile in Oregon on February 4th. He says, “That’s not bad considering we are at a solar minimum.” |
