Antenna Raising Party

Members of the Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club got together on Saturday November 8, 1998 to install antennas on a tower at the new club station.  That facility is located at the Mississippi Horizons School on 300 Qunice Street in Brainerd.

Element Assembly

Here, Club Vice President Bill Ingmundson, WBØMVE, is assembling one element of the newly purchased Moseley 10 through 20 meter beam.

More Assembly

Lyle Kohler, KØLR; and Greg Mass, NØLJY join boom and driven elements, on the beam, while atop the school roof.

Tower Work

It was a cold and windy day for antenna work.  On the left was Jon Livingston, KBØMNM.  On the right was Lyle Koehler, KØLR.

When finished, the tower had an 11 element two meter beam, a Moseley 10 through 20 meter four element beam, and a G5RV center fed multiband dipole for 160 meters through 40 meters.

Not shown, but working on the project that day, were Club President Mark Persons, WØMH, and John Luce, WØJGY.
