March of Dimes aided by the |
Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club |
A March of Dimes walk was
conducted on Saturday, 27 April 2002, starting and ending at the Central
Lakes College in Brainerd. In view of the rain and possibility of snow,
the event was changed from out-of-doors to indoors. The walkers made at
least 5 tours around the entire inside of the college buildings.
With only four hams to participate, we separated into three locations. Gene KØTIW and Katie KBØDKD Bradfield were at the southeast stopping/refreshment area, while Jon Livingston KBØMNM first participated with the American Legion Color Guard, and later was at the northeast stopping/refreshment area. Ken Magloughlin KAØJSW was net control, near the starting location. Nothing serious occurred and the event went along extremely well and without problems or injuries. More than $26,000 was collected for the March of Dimes. The management of the event expressed its thanks and appreciation for the BAARC participation. |
