Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club |
Club Membership Meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2008 |
The evening speakers were
Steve Warren and Jason Schilling from the Batteries Plus store at 923
Washington Street in Brainerd.
http://www.batteriesplus.com The event really turned out to be
a 45-minute question and answer session that was very well received by
the group. We learned that all rechargeable batteries should be recycled along with lithium and watch batteries. Batteries Plus will handle disposal at no charge and will pay up to $7 for a car battery. AGM (Absorption Glass Mat) batteries are getting popular and last twice as long as traditional lead-acid batteries. |

Christopher Nelson, from the Brainerd Jaycees, gave more details on the marathon. There will be more than 450 people running. Some will be using the event to attempt to qualify for the Boston Marathon. There will be a 13.1 mile run and a 26.2 mile run ending in Nisswa, MN.
