United We Stand

Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club, Inc.

Terry May  KIØFW
Club Fox Hunt Chairman and
Club Station/Communications Trailer Committee Chairman

Terry may was born and raised in Bemidji, MN.  He completed his education and post-graduate degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.  He returned "Up North" to Crosslake, MN in 1981.

His radio interest stems from the use of a short-wave receiver when he was in his teens.  It was a World War II vintage radio that belonged to his father.  Terry also recalls using a crystal radio in his teen years to listen to a local radio station.  Even then, he was trying to devise antennas to improve reception.  His interest in experimenting with antennas continues today.  That helps explain his interest in radio transmitter fox hunting.

Terry has participated in a number of Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club activities including being the fox in a Club Fox Hunt in the summer of 2000.  He has also enjoyed helping to provide communications for the Aitkin Sled Dog Race, bike tours, and an orienteering event.  If you like to hunt for GeoCaches, then click here.

Terry's e-mail address is: ki0fw at crosslake.net (replace the at with the familiar "@" sign.)  This is called "munging" the e-mail address so that "spam harvesters" can't recognize it as an e-mail address.
