During his tenure, Al started the Brainerd Area Hamfest and acquired the club Communications Trailer. He got the 443.925 MHz and 53.110 MHz repeaters going. In addition, he added the 145.670 MHz and 147.525 MHz Digital Repeaters. Al was awarded a Life Membership in the BAARC for his efforts. He was given a standing ovation by the group.

All other officers and contributors were given certificates for their dedication to making the BAARC a great organization.

Newly elected President, Lyle Amundson KØLFV, thanked the club for supporting him. He looks forward to serving the Brainerd Area Amateur Radio Club in its many activities.

Bill Mathies, speaker at the After-Holidays Dinner, is shown here pointing a slide photo of himself from years ago. Bill has been a SCUBA diver for 45 years. He showed slides of the many items he has recovered from the bottom of lakes and rivers in the area. Bill started the Minnesota School of Diving, which is located at 712 Washington Street in Brainerd. See: http://www.mndiving.com His fascinating talk was a real crowd pleaser. We thank Bill and his wife, Evelyn, for making this club event a success.
